I can create one for you as a gift, a celebration of a special event or as a memorial tribute. My style blends a mixture of impressionism and realism with the final artwork bringing out the beauty and soul of your beloved pet.
Ideas for portraits range from a classic head and shoulders image to ¾ body to full body. Your reference images need to include one of these options as a source for the artwork.

Source photos need to be clear and high-enough resolution to see details and colors. A primary image and supporting images (2-3) can be emailed to Jen@JenMarkleyPhotoArt.com. If you have an Instagram account, I can also use that as reference. If there are specific details like a favorite toy or location, please let me know and provide an image of those as well.
Pieces are sealed with a protective coating, framed and shipped USPS priority mail with tracking. International customers please email so we can confirm shipping price before ordering. A gift card can be included with the artwork.
Decide what kind of portrait you’d like, gather your photos and email them to me. Indicate in the email your contact info (Name, address, email, phone number), the name of the pet and any other specifics about the pet. If it is a gift for someone else, I will need the shipping info and any message for the gift card.
I will take your reference images and send back a fresh master reference if needed for approval. From there a drawing is made of the piece. I can send a proof of the initial drawing if you request it, but once the painting process starts it goes quickly and there’s not time for additional approvals.
Once the painting is completed, it is sprayed with a protective coating and allowed to dry. It is photographed, framed and prepared for shipping.
Current lead times are two weeks not including shipping time. US customer shipping is around 3-6 days using Priority Mail. (Free Shipping banner relates to prints in the other section of the gallery.) International customers can vary from two weeks to over a month.
Once the main reference image is decided upon and any changes adjusted to the main reference are approved, no. You are commissioning an original artwork. Make your changes up front with the reference approval process.
You can choose to pay in full using PayPal once the commission has been accepted or you can split it into two smaller payments – when the commission starts and before the final painting ships. A PayPal invoice will be sent to your email address.
An original painting can be created, photographed and printed using one of the high quality printers available to me. Please let me know so I can plan for it and get complete pricing for you.
