Why do you have so many names? Because I create so many things!
I’m a photographer, artist, graphic designer, writer and jewelry designer.
You might call it “Creative A.D.D.”– I prefer Marie Forleo’s term of “multi-passionate.”
What I have found is that one creative pursuit feeds the others in a healthy cycle of inspiration and learning.
I’m always moved by the way the light falls on an object or a scene. (Yes, that was me pulling off the road to take that photo.)
I adore being in gardens - I love to see what is growing and explore the design.
I love playing with color and symbology to inspire and explore deeper meanings. Textures and contrast fascinate me.
Exploring and learning bring me joy.
Photos: I use digital media and tools to capture and create images today. I was trained using traditional film techniques (including B/W darkroom) by my father and in school. The Gallery images are a mixture of digital and scanned media.
Art: I use a blend of realistic to abstract techniques to explore in different media – watercolor, drawing, mixed media, collage, acrylic and oils.
I’ve had a camera or a drawing pencil in my hands since the age of 5. I started selling art in high school and photos after finishing college (B.F.A., University of North Texas). While working for Sally Beauty as a graphic designer and photographer, I participated in local shows for art and photography. One of my watercolors was a finalist in the 2009 Hunting Art Competition. (Hunting PLC sponsored it.)
